More on character mapping: duplicate characters

So today instead of trying to rename files I simply copied entire entries from the character lst file from one index to another and replacing things here and there. Result? Duplicate characters!

The basic process is pretty simple: take the character that you want to duplicate, find one of the characters that you don't need, and replace that entry with your character's entry.

So starting in mo00_00_00_00.lst in 05.pp, look for the entry with Eclair's model. Her character code is El. If you really can't find it, it's at index 4.

Now suppose you want to replace Enis (character code Ms).

All you have to do is copy the entire line for Eclair and replace the entire line for Enis.

I don't know what the index actually does (haven't see any difference), but you should change it back to what it was before.

Now your client will load Eclair when you click on Enis! You can do this for the other models as well.

However, three things to note:

1. For now, you can only replace female models with other female models, and male models with male models. Haven't found a way to get around this yet.
2. Some characters have restricted functionality. For instance, rupisito can't do anything, but you can move her fingers. The monster characters can't move their fingers at all, so they are fairly useless.
3. To replace uncle oak, you must place all the required files inside 37.pp, because that's where the client looks (hardcoded I suppose). You will need to save it as MIK trial.

Note: please read this as well: on meshes

Happy modding!

  1. Hey man, great entry.

One problem: I tried to replace Eclair with Ruidia, but whenever I choose the "Torn" or "Nude" option on her, Ruidia's body has all the extra fluids on her body, except her face.

Is there someway around this, or do I need to mod some more?
